Peronistas uruguayos: la CGT uruguaya y el Movimiento Revolucionario La Escoba (1947-1954)

Abstract

Este artículo aborda la trayectoria de dos organizaciones que,por su orientación ideológica, sus definiciones políticas y sus nexos con el gobierno de Juan Domingo Perón y la Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT), pueden denominarse como peronistas. Aunque se reconoce que su formación se vinculó a la estrategia regional desplegada por el gobierno peronista, la explicación de su surgimiento no se agota allí, sino que se la considera en el marco de las redefiniciones que una derecha nacionalista de matriz fascista llevó adelante para adaptarse al contexto político de posguerra. El peronismo constituyó un modelo disponible y cercano, y un aliado fuerte capaz de darle a esas organizaciones apoyo y financiación en virtud de la confluencia de sus intereses. A través de documentación gubernamental uruguaya y argentina, y de la prensa periódica, se pretende dar cuenta de la trayectoria de la CGT uruguaya y el Movimiento Revolucionario La Escoba.

This article examines the trajectories of two organizations that, due to their ideological orientation, political affiliations, and ties to the government of Juan Domingo Perón and the Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT), can be defined as Peronist. Although it is acknowledged that their formation was linked to the regional strategy deployed by the Peronist government, the explanation for their emergence is not reduced to that; rather it is considered within the framework of the redefinitions that a nationalist right wing with a fascist matrix carried out to adapt to the postwar political context. Peronism constituted an available and accessible model and a strong ally capable of providing these organizations with support and funding due to the convergence of their interests. Through governmental Uruguayan and Argentinian sources, and the periodical press, this article aims to describe the trajectory of the Uruguayan CGT and Movimiento Revolucionario La Escoba.
