Gestión documental de la Colección Jorge Arturo Cazet basada en el modelo propuesto por Fernando Osorio Alarcón

Abstract

Este TFG aborda la Colección Jorge Arturo Cazet, su hallazgo despertó interés por su valor patrimonial ya que documenta una parte de la historia de los medios de comunicación uruguayos a través de uno de sus protagonistas. Desde el marco teórico se aborda la disciplina de la fotodocumentación y la labor del archivólogo en la recuperación de la información. Se remarca la importancia de los documentos como fuente de la memoria colectiva y se argumenta el carácter documental de la fotografía. Se presentan las colecciones como agrupaciones documentales que surgen de los archivos personales. Se propone el “Modelo para la gestión, organización y administración de las tareas que inciden en el desarrollo de colecciones de imágenes fotográficas y medios audiovisuales” elaborado por Fernando Osorio Alarcón. Se presentan los procesos archivísticos de Identificación y de descripción documental haciendo hincapié en la descripción de documentos fotográficos y sus particularidades de acuerdo a las recomendaciones de Joan Boadas. Se emplean las normas ISAD-G y NUDA y la opción del catálogo como instrumento de descripción documental y de recuperación de la información. Como objetivo general se plantea mostrar la aplicación del modelo de gestión de Fernando Osorio Alarcón en la colección Jorge Arturo Cazet. Los objetivos específicos derivan de las cuatro áreas que componen el modelo: control físico, control intelectual, almacenamiento y acceso y uso. La investigación se centró en el control intelectual creando una biografía de Jorge Arturo Cazet con la que se confeccionó el área de contenido de las fichas catalográficas y la descripción en la base de datos de AtoM. Se concluyó la importancia de los archivólogos en el control físico e intelectual de las colecciones y la necesidad del apoyo institucional para la concreción satisfactoria de los objetivos concernientes al almacenamiento y brindar acceso a los documentos.

This TFG addresses the Jorge Arturo Cazet Collection, its discovery sparked interest due to its heritage value as it documents a part of the history of the Uruguayan media through one of its protagonists. From the theoretical framework, the discipline of photodocumentation and the work of the archivist in the recovery of information are addressed. The importance of documents as a source of collective memory is highlighted and the documentary nature of photography is argued. Collections are presented as documentary groupings that arise from personal archives. The “Model for the management, organization and administration of tasks that affect the development of collections of photographic images and audiovisual media” developed by Fernando Osorio Alarcón is proposed. The archival processes of Identification and documentary description are presented, emphasizing the description of photographic documents and their particularities according to the recommendations of Joan Boadas. The ISAD-G and NUDA standards are used and the option of the catalog as an instrument of documentary description and information recovery. The general objective is to show the application of Fernando Osorio Alarcón's management model in the Jorge Arturo Cazet collection. The specific objectives are derived from the four areas that make up the model: physical control, intellectual control, storage and access and use. The research focused on intellectual control by creating a biography of Jorge Arturo Cazet with which the content area of the cataloging cards and the description in the AtoM database were created. The importance of archivists in the physical and intellectual control of the collections and the need for institutional support for the satisfactory achievement of the objectives concerning storage and providing access to the documents were concluded.
