Resumen: | Bacteria of Leptospira genus infect annually about 15/100000 people in Uruguay, mainly young male rural workers, and also a significant proportion of national production animals, domestic mammals as dogs, and wild species, from which they are transmitted to humans. Bovine and human infections have been extensively studied, but there is still much to know about other components of the animal reservoir of this zoonosis. |
