El Instituto de Higiene de la Facultad de Medicina, es una institución pública especializada, perteneciente a la Universidad de la República. Está abocado a la enseñanza de grado y posgrado, investigación y extensión en coordinación con otras instituciones nacionales e internacionales que persiguen los mismos fines. Actualmente se desarrolla investigación bajo la concepción integral de la salud humana en interacción con la salud animal y el ambiente con el enfoque de Una Salud.
Las obras depositadas en el Repositorio se rigen por la Ordenanza de los Derechos de la Propiedad Intelectual de la Universidad De La República. (Res. Nº 91 de C.D.C. de 8/III/1994 – D.O. 7/IV/1994) y por la Ordenanza del Repositorio Abierto de la Universidad de la República (Res. Nº 16 de C.D.C. de 07/10/2014).
