El aporte latinoamericano a la literatura en Organización del Conocimiento

Abstract

Esta investigación analiza el aporte latinoamericano a la literatura internacional y regional en el área Organización del Conocimiento. Para ello se propuso un análisis bibliométrico de fuentes de información referentes en la temática. El estudio analiza dos revistas generales: Journal of Documentation y Cataloging and Classification Quaterly. Y tres fuentes específicas para Organización del Conocimiento: Knowledge Organization, Advances in Knowledge Organization y Estudos Avançados em Organização do Conhecimento. A partir del relevamiento de las mencionadas fuentes se extraen indicadores de actividad, dentro de los cuales se analizó el número y distribución de trabajos en las publicaciones, señalando la participación latinoamericana. Se cuantificó la productividad de autores e instituciones latinoamericanas, así como también se analizó la colaboración autoral e institucional. Al termino de la investigación es posible afirmar sobre la distribución geográfica regional que Brasil es el líder en la investigación latinoamericana del campo, se destaca también que se posiciona segundo a nivel internacional luego de Estados Unidos, según la plataforma de información Scopus. Los indicadores de colaboración señalan que predominan en las revistas científicas los trabajos de autoría individual, mientras que en las conferencias ISKO la coautoría es lo más frecuente. En cuanto a la colaboración institucional se observa que es una práctica poco frecuente en todas las fuentes analizadas, si bien aparece con mayor presencia hacia los últimos años analizados. Se observó que la partícipación latinoamericana en Organización del Conocimiento es escasa en las fuentes generales, 1.59% y 6.72% en Journal of Documentation y Cataloging and Classifitation Quaterly respectivamente. En las fuentes específicas Knowledge Organization presentó 9.44% de producción latinoamericana, Advances in Knowledge Organization 16.13% mientras que en Estudos Avançados em Organização do Conhecimento, publicación de carácter regional, el 83.73% de sus trabajos correspondió a autores latinoamericanos. Parece más accesible para los investigadores latinoamericanos presentar el nuevo conocimiento en eventos regionales que acceder a revistas científicas de corte internacional. Con los datos obtenidos en esta investigación se observó que la mayor producción latinoamericana del área se presenta solo a nivel regional, siendo cada vez menos frecuente cuanto mayor impacto tiene la fuente.

This research analaized and assesses the Latinamerican contribution to the field of Knowledge Organization. For this purpose, it proposes bibliometric analysis of referent publications in the area. The following sources of information are studied: Journal of Documentation and Cataloging & Classification Quarterly, both general journals. And three specific sources: Knowledge Organization, Advances in Knowledge Organization and Estudos Avançados em Organização do Conhecimento. Based on the study of these sources activity indicators are extracted, we analize the number and distribution of papers in the publications, indicating Latin American participation. The productivity of Latin American authors and institutions was quantified, as well as author and institutional collaboration. At the end of the investigation it is possible to affirm on the regional geographic distribution that Brazil is the leader in the Latin American research of the field, it is also emphasized that it is positioned second internationally after the United States, according to the Scopus information platform. Collaboration indicators indicate that individual authorship works predominate in scientific journals, while co-authorship is the most frequent in conferences. Regarding institutional collaboration, it is observed that it is a rare practice in all the sources analyzed, although it appears with a greater presence towards the last years analyzed It was observed that Latin American participation in Knowledge Organization is scarce in general sources, 1.59% and 6.72% in the Journal of Documentation and Cataloging and Classification Quaterly respectively. In the specific sources Knowledge Organization presented 9.44% of Latin American production, Advances in Knowledge Organization 16.13% while in Estudos Avançados em Organização do Conhecimento 83.73% of their work corresponded to Latin American authors. It seems more accessible for Latin American researchers to present new knowledge in regional events than to access international scientific journals. With the data obtained in this research, it was observed that the largest Latin American production in the area is presented only at the regional level, being less and less frequent the greater the impact the source has.
