Catálogo de ilustradores de libros infantiles, Uruguay, 1929-1993

Abstract

Se definen los términos literatura infantil, catálogo, imágen e ilustración para poder situar la temática tratada en la investigación. Dada la importancia del proceso perceptivo que realizan los lectores al enfrentarse al lenguaje visual fue necesario investigar acerca de él y todos los aspectos que abarca. Para ello nos basamos en distintos autores siendo los más citados Zunzunegui, Villafañe y Goldstein. También se indaga sobre los conceptos de imagen e ilustración explicando sus diferencias y se hace hincapié en la expresión del arte mediante la ilustración. Se crea un catálogo de ilustradores de libros infantiles uruguayos que abarca el período comprendido entre 1929 y 1993, con el objetivo de recuperar y reunir en un documento el registro de sus trabajos y visualizar asimismo la contribución de los ilustradores a la historia de literatura infantil de nuestro país. El trabajo se basó en la recopilación e investigación de documentación para su posterior análisis y conformación del catálogo. Como resultado, se logró la recuperación de más de cien ilustradores uruguayos y sus respectivos trabajos además de dos agrupaciones de ilustradores con sus respectivos trabajos. Debido a la escasez de antecedentes relacionados a la temática planteada, es que se hace necesaria la investigación y recuperación de los ilustradores nacionales olvidados

The terms children's literature, catalogue, image and illustration are defined in order to situate the topic treated in the research. Due to the importance of the perceptual process that readers carry out when confronted with visual language, it was necessary to investigate it and all the aspects it covers. To do this we rely on different authors, the most cited being Zunzunegui, Villafañe and Goldstein. The concepts of image and illustration are also investigated, explaining their differences and emphasizing the expression of art through illustration. A catalog of Uruguayan children's book illustrators that covers the period between 1929 and 1993 is created, with the aim of recovering and gathering in a document the record of their work and also visualizing the contribution of illustrators to the history of children's literature in Uruguay, our country. The work was based on the compilation and investigation of documentation for subsequent analysis and creation of the catalog. As a result, the recovery of more than one hundred Uruguayan illustrators and their respective works was achieved, as well as two groups of illustrators with their respective works. Due to the scarcity of background information related to the topic raised, research and recovery of forgotten national illustrators is necessary.
