Los trabajadores del metal en los ‘60s: Problemas metodológicos que se plantean para su estudio

Abstract

Partiendo de las experiencias cosechadas en el trabajo de reconstrucción histórica e identitaria de la Unión Nacional de Trabajadores del Metal y Ramas Afines (UNTMRA), el presente artículo se propone reflexionar acerca de las dificultades y desafíos metodológicos que se le presentan al investigador cuando intenta confeccionar una Historia de los trabajadores y sus organizaciones sindicales. A su vez, frente a las limitaciones en lo que respecta a documentos escritos que ilustren al historiador acerca del mundo obrero y sindical, este trabajo propone también la utilización o revalorización de ciertas fuentes alternativas que echan luz en torno a las temáticas abordadas.

Based on the experience that have emerged from the rebuilding of the Metallurgic National Union (UNTMRA) history and identity work, this article aims to reflect on the various obstacles andmethodological challenges that the researcher must go through when attempting to produce a History of workers and their trade unions. At the same time and talking into account the scarcity and limitations in written documents illustrating the historian about the universe of workers and unions, this piece of work proposes to use and re-value certain alternative sources that may put some light in to the object of the research.
