Los clubes de lectura en Montevideo y área metropolitana : metodologías de funcionamiento, aporte social y rol de la biblioteca

Abstract

A partir de la observación del aumento de clubes de lectura en Montevideo y de la carencia de bibliografía sobre la realidad actual de los mismos, surge la necesidad de ahondar en el tema y generar un punto de partida que impulse la teoría a nivel local sobre la materia y la riqueza que en ella se encuentra. Este trabajo de grado consiste en un estudio exploratorio con enfoque principalmente cualitativo y algunos aspectos cuantitativos, el cual aborda el tema desde una revisión de la literatura fundamentalmente regional e internacional, entrevistas a diversos actores clave a nivel local y encuestas a clubes de lectura de la capital de Uruguay. El objetivo del mismo es estudiar el aporte de los clubes de lectura de Montevideo a la sociedad y a los individuos en particular. Además, se aborda la relación de estos espacios con la biblioteca y el profesional de la información, y se presentan pautas para la creación y sostenimiento de un club de lectura.

From the observation of the increase in reading clubs in Montevideo and the lack of bibliography on their current reality, the need arises to delve into the topic and generate a starting point that promotes theory at the local level on the matter and the richness found in it. This degree work consists of an exploratory study with a mainly qualitative approach and some quantitative aspects, which addresses the topic from a review of fundamentally regional and international literature, interviews with various key actors at the local level and surveys of reading clubs in the capital. from Uruguay. The objective is to study the contribution of Montevideo's reading clubs to society and to individuals in particular. In addition, the relationship of these spaces with the library and the information professional is addressed, and guidelines for the creation and maintenance of a reading club are presented.
