Cuerpo y alteridad en relatos de sujetos migrantes provenientes de América del Sur y el Caribe residentes en la ciudad de Montevideo

Abstract

El presente estudio propone explorar los procesos de construcción de la alteridad en relatos de sujetos migrantes provenientes de América Latina y el Caribe residentes en Montevideo; proponemos el cuerpo como locus de alteridad privilegiado de la experiencia migratoria y organizamos nuestro estudio en torno a las experiencias de extrañamiento corporal que surgieron como dato para resaltar en el análisis de los relatos. La referencia al cuerpo extraño y cambiante es examinada a la luzr de la noción freudiana de Unheimilich y tomada como índice del esfuerzo psíquico de elaboración de los múltiples cambios que introduce la migración. Evidenciamos por esta vía la necesidad de producción de nuevas marcas corporales que permiten al migrante inscribir su cuerpo en la experiencia migratoria; llamamos, de forma propositiva, cuerpo migrante a esta estructura ad hoc, diferente al cuerpo anterior a la migración, pero también distinto del del otro de la experiencia migratoria. El cuerpo migrante oficia, discursivamente, como cuerpo que inscribe una diferencia tanto con relación al lugar de origen como al contexto migratorio, lo que devela la alternancia entre el deseo de alterización y la resistencia a esa misma alterización. La tesis explora también la relación entre el cuerpo migrante y la resignificación de los discursos identitarios y las narrativas sobre racialidad y género a partir de la experiencia migratoria.

The present study explores the processes of construction of otherness in stories of migrant subjects from Latin America and the Caribbean living in Montevideo, Uruguay; We propose the body is a privileged locus of otherness in the migratory experience and we organize our study around the experiences of bodily oddness that emerged as data in the analysis of the interviews. The reference to a strange and changing body is examined in the light of Freudian notion of Unheimilich and taken as a sign of the psychic effort the migrant has to endure to face the multiple changes that migration introduces. In this way, we emphasize the need for the production of new body references that allow migrants to inscribe their body in the migratory experience; We purposefully named this ad hoc structure migrant body, different from the body they had before migration, but also different from the body of the other subject, the national in the migratory experience. The migrant body stands for a difference, that is established both in relation to the place of origin and the migratory context, which reveals the alternation between the desire for change and the resistance to be changed into a different person. The thesis also explores the relationship between the migrant body and the resignification of identity discourses and narratives about raciality and gender as a result of the migratory experience.
