Abstract

1968 es un año de cambios a nivel global. En Uruguay el punto de inflexión de la militancia estudiantil de secundaria y UTU tiene lugar en junio, donde las movilizaciones por la suba del boleto y la implementación de las Medidas Prontas de Seguridad. Al investigar la militancia estudiantil la idea de “año bisagra” adquiere significado. Esto es percibido por la sociedad toda y por los estudiantes particularmente. Las fuentes utilizadas, principalmente la prensa, aportan al análisis histórico una mirada heterogénea sobre los hechos que involucraron a los más jóvenes en el marco de la crisis de 1968. A su vez, la evolución en el tiempo de los discursos de la prensa escrita ilustran la percepción ideológica de cada medio sobre el movimiento estudiantil. La investigación muestra como tendencia general, la ascendente problematización e influencia de los hechos que protagonizaron los estudiantes. Esto ubicó a lo que inicialmente fue una protesta en torno al aumento del boleto estudiantil,en un contexto de lucha, que luego de la implementación de las Medidas Prontas de Seguridad se fue unificando y ampliando en sus reivindicaciones.

In Uruguay the inflection point of the student militancy of secondary and UTU takes place in June, where the mobilizations for the increase of the ticket and the implementation of the Early Security Measures. The sources used, mainly the press, gives the historical analysis a heterogeneous view on the facts that involved the youngest students in the context of the crisis of 1968. In turn, the evolution in time of the speeches of the written press illustrate the ideological perception of each media regarding the student movement. The research shows a growing problematization and influence of the incidents involving the students as a general tendency. The incidents evolved around what initially was a protest about the increase of the student transportation ticket in a context of struggle, this protest became more cohesive and expanded its claims after the implementation of the Ready Measures of Security.
