Educación ambiental y conservación: una mirada desde un colectivo de mujeres rurales

Abstract

Este artículo está basado en una Tesis de Maestría realizada en el Área de Protección Ambiental Cuenca Media del Arroyo Solís Grande (APASG). A partir de este trabajo se identificó un Colectivo de Mujeres Rurales junto con el cual se desarrolló un proceso de Investigación-acción participativa. El objetivo del trabajo fue diseñar una propuesta de Educación Ambiental que fortalezca las actividades que se desarrollan y fomente la integración y participación del Colectivo de Mujeres Rurales de Piedras de Afilar al APASG. La estrategia metodológica se compuso de observación participante e investigación-acción participativa, en la cual se destaca un mapeo del cuerpo-territorio y línea de tiempo. Los principales resultados reflejan los tiempos lentos del proceso de educación ambiental dado de acuerdo a las posibilidades del grupo humano, principalmente al trabajar con mujeres. En cuanto al vínculo con la conservación, el grupo desconoce qué implica el área, su significado, alcance y potencialidades. En este sentido, se destaca la importancia que las áreas de protección articulen con las y los actores que se encuentran en las mismas o sus inmediaciones y contribuyan a una mejor calidad de vida para sus habitantes. Se resalta la necesidad de incluir una perspectiva de género para incluir la mirada de las mujeres en relación al APASG.

This article is based on a Master's Thesis carried out in the Solís Grande Stream Middle Basin Environmental Protection Area (APASG). Based on this work, a Rural Women's Collective was identified, together with which a participative action-research process was developed. The objective of the work was to design an Environmental Education proposal that strengthens the activities that are developed and encourages the integration and participation of the Rural Women's Collective of Piedras de Afilar in the APASG. The methodological strategy was composed of participant observation and participatory action-research, in which a mapping of the body-territory and timeline stand out. The main results reflect the slow times of the environmental education process given according to the possibilities of the human group, mainly when working with women. Regarding the link with conservation, the group does not know exactly what the area implies, its meaning, scope and potential. In this sense, it is important that the protection areas articulate with the actors that are in them or their surroundings and contribute to a better quality of life for their inhabitants. The need to include a gender perspective is highlighted to include the perspective of women in relation to the APASG.
