Capnografía volumétrica y desvinculación de la ventilación mecánica. Hospital de Clínicas, abril-octubre 2019

Abstract

Objetivo: Identificar la existencia de distintos modelos de vaciamiento pulmonar a través del monitoreo capnográfico continuo en la prueba de ventilación espontánea (PVE). Metodología: Monitorización de distintos parámetros como la frecuencia respiratoria (FR), ventilación alveolar (Valv) y volumen corriente (VTE) pre PVE, durante PVE y post PVE,obtenidos a través de un equipo de cámaras de video en pacientes bajo Asistencia Ventilatoria Mecánica (AVM) internados en el Centro de Tratamiento Intensivo (CTI) del Hospital de Clínicas "Dr. Manuel Quintela" en el período de abril a octubre de 2019. Resultados: Se obtuvieron registros capnográficos que al correlacionarse con los del ventilador mecánico lograron identificar distintos patrones de vaciamiento pulmonar, algunos de ellos correspondientes a la fase IV de la espiración. Conclusión: Se pudieron analizar satisfactoriamente los registros obtenidos. Debido a un tamaño muestral limitado no se pudo determinar un desenlace de carácter estadístico para este trabajo, sin embargo, se pudieron recolectar datos potencialmente valiosos para futuras investigaciones.

Objective: Identify the existence of different models of lung emptying through continuous capnographic monitoring in the spontaneous breathing test (SBT). Methodology: Monitoring of different parameters such as breathing frequency, alveolar ventilation and tidal volume, before SBT, during SBT and after SBT, obtained through video camera equipment in patients under Mechanical Ventilatory Assistance admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital de Clínicas "Dr. Manuel Quintela" during the period from April to October 2019. Results: Capnographic records were obtained and when correlated with mechanical ventilators, were able to identify different patterns of pulmonary emptying, some of them corresponding to thestage IV of the expiration. Conclusion: The records were successfully analyzed. Due to a limited sample size, a statistical outcome for this work could not be determined, however, potentially valuable data was collected for future research.
