Discursos, experiencias y políticas: exploraciones teóricas sobre las víctimas del delito

Abstract

Las víctimas del delito han ganado centralidad en la vida social contemporánea. Su estudio le exige a la sociología un importante esfuerzo conceptual, pues las escalas de sufrimiento deben reconstruirse en medio de la heterogeneidad de discursos, experiencias, y respuestas. En este sentido, proponemos la existencia de tres dimensiones para el abordaje de las víctimas: la dimensión pasiva, donde se tramitan las narrativas y los discursos que crean y sostienen a las víctimas; la dimensión reactiva, que abarca las experiencias de victimización, las emociones y los sentimientos que le dan forma a la heterogeneidad de los testimonios; y por último, la dimensión creadora, que refiere a la conformación de movilizaciones y acciones colectivas para tramitar el dolor que deja el delito.

Crime victims have gained centrality in contemporary social life. Its study requires a significant conceptual effort from sociology, since the scales of suffering must be reconstructed in the midst of the heterogeneity of discourses, experiences, and responses. In this sense, we propose the existence of three dimensions for dealing with victims: the passive dimension, where the narratives and discourses that create and sustain the victims are processed; the reactive dimension, which encompasses the experiences of victimization, the emotions and the feelings that shape the heterogeneity of the testimonies; and finally, the creative dimension, which refers to the formation of mobilizations and collective actions to process the pain left by crime.
