Evaluación de la eficacia de un secuestrante de micotoxinas en vacas lecheras sobre los niveles de aflatoxina M1 en leche y orina

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se estudió in vivo el efecto de la adición de un secuestrante de micotoxinas sobre los niveles de aflatoxina M1 excretados por leche y orina y el impacto productivo sobre los animales. Con este fin, se realizó un ensayo de campo que consistió en administrar a vacas lecheras en producción un alimento contaminado artificialmente con aflatoxinas y con un agente secuestrante de micotoxinas. En el Laboratorio de Toxicología de Facultad de Veterinaria se cultivó una cepa toxicogénica de Aspergillus parasiticus para obtener aflatoxinas. Posteriormente estas toxinas fueron administradas junto con maíz molido a los animales. Doce vacas fueron asignadas aleatoriamente a tres tratamientos, un tratamiento recibió 60 µg/kg de aflatoxina B1 durante 10 días, otro recibió la misma dosis de aflatoxina más la adición del agente secuestrante y el tercero fue utilizado como control. Los datos fueron analizados con modelo lineal mixto, utilizando para la simplificación del modelo el criterio de Akaike. Todos los análisis fueron realizados con el software R, versión 3.6.0. En las condiciones del ensayo, con una dosis de total de 1140 µg de aflatoxina B1 al día, los parámetros productivos no se vieron afectados. La aflatoxina administrada a los animales fue detectada en leche y orina 12 horas posteriores a la primera dosificación y los niveles se elevaron entorno a los 15 µg/L, disminuyendo a niveles inferiores a 0,5 µg/L 72 horas posteriores a la última dosificación. El agregado de secuestrante disminuyó en un 43% la excreción de aflatoxina M1 en leche.

In this work, the effect of the addition of a mycotoxin sequestering agent on the levels of aflatoxin M1 excretion in milk and urine and the impact on animal production was in vivo studied. For this, a field trial that consisted of administering food artificially contaminated with aflatoxins and with mycotoxins sequestering agent to dairy cows in production was carried out. A toxicogenic strain of Aspergillus parasiticus was cultured in the Toxicology Laboratory of the Veterinary School to obtain aflatoxins. Subsequently, these toxins were administered together with ground corn to the animals. Twelve cows were randomly assigned to three treatments, one treatment received 60 µg/kg of aflatoxin B1 for 10 days, another received the dose of aflatoxin plus the addition of the sequestering agent and the third was used as a control. The data were analyzed with the mixed linear model, using the Akaike criteria for the simplification of the model. All analysis were performed with R software, version 3.6.0. The productive parameters were not affected under the test conditions, with a total dose of 1140 µg of aflatoxin B1 per day. Aflatoxin administered to animals was detected in milk and urine 12 hours after the first dosage, and the levels rose to around 15 µg/L and decreased to below 0.5 µg/L 72 hours after the last dosage.
