Anestesia en paciente oncológico

Abstract

Dada la alta prevalencia y el gran impacto social y económico que el cáncer representa para la sociedad, es necesario que tomemos conciencia del rol que el anestesista y el resto del equipo tratante juega en el progreso o remisión de la enfermedad. Existe evidencia suficiente como para afirmar que el acto anestésico quirúrgico causa una serie de efectos que propician la progresión del cáncer, y conocerlos es fundamental para intentar reducirlos. El paciente oncológico se presenta a diario en block quirúrgico, por lo cual conocer los efectos que ejerce la anestesia administrada y los cuidados perioperatorios en la enfermedad, es fundamental para planificar el acto anestésico quirúrgico. A continuación, se presenta una revisión acerca de las consideraciones anestésicas a tener en cuenta en el pre, intra y posoperatorio de los pacientes oncológicos, y los efectos que ejerce la anestesia en la progresión o remisión de la enfermedad.

The high prevalence and the great social and economic impact that cancer represents for society, it is necessary that we become aware of the role of the anesthetist and the treating team play in the progress or remission of the disease. There is enough evidence that the surgical anesthetic act causes a series of effects that favor the progression of cancer and knowing them is essential to try to reduce them. The cancer patient presents daily in the surgical unit, for this reason it is essential to know the effects of the administered anesthesia and the perioperative care in the disease to plan the surgical anesthetic act. This review of the anesthetic to be considered in the pre, intra, and postoperative period of cancer patients, and the effects of anesthesia on the progression or remission of the disease.
