Lactancia humana en privación de libertad

Abstract

En Uruguay se conoce que el porcentaje de mujeres privadas de libertad (MPL) con hijos/as a cargo es mínimo en relación con los varones; la existencia de personas privadas de libertad es mayoritariamente masculina (95 %). Se han realizado algunas investigaciones que abordan la maternidad en ellas, basándose en sus realidades y experiencias, pero no se encuentra ninguna sobre las MPL que cursan la lactancia humana (LH) dentro de los centros penitenciarios; por tanto se considera que es un tema oculto, del que no hay datos, estudios, ni suficiente información, razón por la cual se seleccionó esta temática para la realización del presente trabajo final de grado, siendo un protocolo de investigación de tipo cualitativo, exploratorio, descriptivo y transversal, con el objetivo principal de conocer cómo se desarrolla la LH en situaciones de privación de libertad. Mediante los datos obtenidos a partir de los relatos de estas mujeres, se pretenderá lograr un acercamiento en cuanto a sus vivencias personales, conocer si cuentan con apoyo durante este período y si existen factores que se interpongan para poder realizarlo con éxito. En cuanto a las consideraciones éticas, se tomarán en cuenta las Reglas de Bangkok y las Reglas de Mandela a la hora de tratar con personas privadas de libertad. La recolección de datos será a través de entrevistas semi estructuradas anónimas a mujeres que cursan el período de lactancia en el Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación, Unidad N.°9 de Montevideo, Uruguay. Previo a la realización de las mismas se les solicitará el consentimiento informado. A su vez se busca que el aporte de este trabajo tenga un valor académico como antecedente para futuras generaciones de la Universidad de la República que se propongan continuar con esta línea de investigación y para la sociedad en general, generando propuestas para trabajar con la comunidad, ya que como se mencionó previamente no existen investigaciones ni antecedentes en Uruguay sobre dicho tema, siendo de aporte para poder contribuir con la visibilidad de esta población.

In Uruguay it is known that the percentage of women deprived of liberty (MPL) with dependent children is minimal in relation to men; The existence of people deprived of liberty is mostly male (95%). Some research has been carried out that addresses motherhood in them, based on their realities and experiences, but none has been found on the MPL who undergo human breastfeeding (LH) within penitentiary centers; Therefore, it is considered to be a hidden topic, for which there is no data, studies, or sufficient information, which is why this topic was selected for the completion of this final degree project, being a qualitative, exploratory research protocol, descriptive and transversal, with the main objective of knowing how HL develops in situations of deprivation of liberty. Using the data obtained from the stories of these women, the aim will be to gain an understanding of their personal experiences, to know if they have support during this period and if there are factors that get in the way of being able to do it successfully. Regarding ethical considerations, the Bangkok Rules and the Mandela Rules will be taken into account when dealing with people deprived of their liberty. Data collection will be through anonymous semi-structured interviews with women who breastfed at the National Rehabilitation Institute, Unit No. 9 of Montevideo, Uruguay. Prior to carrying them out, informed consent will be requested. At the same time, it is sought that the contribution of this work has an academic value as a precedent for future generations of the University of the Republic that intend to continue with this line of research and for society in general, generating proposals to work with the community. Since, as previously mentioned, there is no research or background in Uruguay on this topic, being a contribution to contribute to the visibility of this population.
