Vivencias del embarazo en las trabajadoras sexuales

Abstract

A lo largo de la historia, la construcción de la maternidad y de la mujer gestante ha estado determinada por los parámetros que establece la sociedad dentro de los estereotipos y roles de género. De esta manera, la misma entiende al trabajo sexual como la antitesis de la maternidad, siendo una realidad que escapa de lo normativo y de lo socialmente aceptado, dado que aleja a la mujer de la idealizacion de la maternidad y los roles de cuidado. Es por esta idealización que la sociedad estigmatiza y juzga a la mujer/madre trabajadora sexual, asumiendo que por el hecho de maternar ejerciendo su profesión no pueden cumplir con dichos mandatos. Además de la vulneración social que esto conlleva, esta población se encuentra expuesta a diversos factores de riesgo, que pueden comprometer la salud del binomio materno-fetal, los cuales se encuentran ligados al ejercicio del trabajo sexual. Esto se debe a que la mujer es un ser biopsicosocial, donde no sólo influyen los factores sociales mencionados, sino también cómo los mismos pueden repercutir en lo biológico y viceversa. Por lo tanto nos cuestionamos, ¿Cómo afectarán todas estas condicionantes en las vivencias del embarazo en las mujeres trabajadoras sexuales? Para intentar responder ésta interrogante, realizaremos un proyecto de investigación con el objetivo de conocer las vivencias del embarazo en las trabajadoras sexuales, buscando establecer factores de riesgo en el binomio materno-fetal, indagar sobre el desarrollo de la actividad laboral y conocer las repercusiones emocionales del embarazo durante el ejercicio del trabajo sexual. El mismo será llevado a cabo con un enfoque cualitativo, de tipo exploratorio y retrospectivo, dirigido a mujeres cis trabajadoras sexuales, residentes en Montevideo Uruguay, que hayan cursado un embarazo en los últimos 5 años, y que durante ese momento hayan ejercido el trabajo sexual siendo myores de 18 años. Realizaremos entrevistas semi-estructuradas e individuales, siendo las preguntas de carácter abierto, permitiendo a las entrevistadoras adecuar las mismas según las respuestas obtenidas o realizar nuevas interrogantes según el relato obtenido. Posteriormente, las mismas serán procesadas informáticamente con el fin de recabar los datos del encuentro logrando así obtener una mirada global de la situación de las personas entrevistadas. Previo a la realización de las entrevistas, se le otorgará a la participante un consentimiento informado que especifique el propósito del proyecto y garantice su participación de forma voluntaria, teniendo en cuenta que las mismas serán transcritas de forma anónima para proteger la identidad de la entrevistada.

Throughout history, the construction of motherhood and of the pregnant woman has been determined by the parameters established by society within gender stereotypes and roles. In this way, society understands sex work as the antithesis of motherhood, being a reality that escapes the normative and socially accepted, given that it distances women from the idealisation of motherhood and the roles of care. It is because of this idealization that society stigmatizes and judges sex worker women/mothers, assuming that because they are mothers in their profession they cannot fulfill these mandates. In addition to the social vulnerability that this entails, this population is exposed to various risk factors that can compromise the health of the maternal-fetal binomial, which are linked to the exercise of sex work. This is due to the fact that women are biopsychosocial beings, influenced not only by the aforementioned social factors, but also by how these factors can have repercussions on the biological and vice versa. Therefore, we ask ourselves, how will all these conditioning factors affect the experience of pregnancy in female sex workers? In order to try to answer this question, we will carry out a research project with the aim of finding out about the experiences of pregnancy in sex workers, seeking to establish risk factors in the maternal-fetal binomial, to investigate the development of the work activity and to find out about the emotional repercussions of pregnancy during sex work. The study will be carried out with a qualitative, exploratory and retrospective approach, aimed at cis female sex workers, residents of Montevideo Uruguay, who have had a pregnancy in the last 5 years, and who during that time have been involved in sex work when they were over 18 years of age. We will conduct semi-structured and individual interviews, being the questions open-ended, allowing the interviewers to adapt them according to the answers obtained or to ask new questions according to the story obtained. Subsequently, they will be processed by computer in order to collect the data from the meeting, thus obtaining an overall view of the situation of the interviewees. Prior to conducting the interviews, the participant will be given informed consent specifying the purpose of the project and guaranteeing her participation on a voluntary basis, bearing in mind that the interviews will be transcribed anonymously in order to protect the identity of the interviewee.
