Historia del Método Anticonceptivo Implante Subdérmico

Abstract

En el mundo de la anticoncepción, los implantes subdérmicos han tomado un lugar importante. Creados con el objetivo de convertirse en el anticonceptivo ideal, siendo sus principales características la seguridad y la eficacia, se han ido incorporando en el mundo teniendo un amplio alcance, estando hoy en día en más de 60 países. En el transcurso de la elaboración del presente documento, se realizó un recorrido desde la historia de sus orígenes hasta la actualidad, pudiéndose apreciar la evolución que ha tenido, como a su vez la importancia que ha motivado la creación de más variedades a lo largo de los años con características innovadoras existentes al día de hoy. Este anticonceptivo ha traído con sigo repercusiones sociales, partiendo de que a llegado en pleno auge feminista, donde la mujer comenzaba a empoderarse y hacerse de sus derechos. La llegada de un anticonceptivo el cual perdura en el tiempo sin necesidad de un seguimiento, de seguir relojes ni calendarios más que retirarlo y/o cambiarlo cada 3-5 años, eficaz y seguro que permite a la mujer libertad en la decisión de tener, cuando, o no tener hijos, y esto orientado en una época donde la mujer seguía un estereotipo social impuesto que no daba paso a estas libertades, romper con ello significó un gran cambio para las mujeres, empoderarse y llevar las riendas de sus vidas. Siendo de igual importancia hoy en día donde el tiempo corre y marca la vida de las mujeres. Desde hace 7 años Uruguay cuenta con este anticonceptivo, que se ha ido incorporando paulatinamente, estando hoy disponible en más de 200 puntos para su colocación, estando al alcance de usuarias de salud privada y salud pública, constando con dos variedades de implantes que difieren entre los distintos sistemas de salud.

In the world of contraception, subdermal implants have taken an important place. Created with the aim of becoming the ideal contraceptive, its main characteristics being safety and efficacy, they have been incorporated in the world with a wide scope, being today in more than 60 countries. During the preparation of this document, a journey was made from the history of its origins to the present day, being able to appreciate the evolution that it has had, as well as the importance of it has motivated the creation of more varieties throughout over the years with innovative features that emerged among existing brands today. This contraceptive has brought with it social repercussions, starting from the fact that it arrived in the middle of the feminist boom, where women began to empower themselves and take hold of their rights. The arrival of a contraceptive which lasts over time without the need for monitoring, following clocks or calendars rather than removing it and / or changing it every 3-5 years, effective and safe, which allows women freedom in the decision to have, when or not, have children, and this guiding in a time where women followed an imposed social stereotype that did not give way to these freedoms, break with it meant a great change for women, empowering themselves and taking control of their lives. Being of equal importance today where time runs and marks the lives of women. For 7 years, Uruguay has had this contraceptive, which has been gradually incorporated, being today available in more than 200 points for its placement, being available to users of private health and public health, consisting of two varieties of implants that differ between different health systems.
