Abstract: Due to the expensive replacement cost of power transformers, accurate methods to determine the condition and state of these machines have been developed and improved. The goal of these methods is, by means of the preventive maintenance, to avoid inopportune exits of service. These failures have directly costs associated the to the damage, but also costs associated to the problems caused by the energy lack of the clients. In competitive markets, the importance of knowing the real condition of the transformers is growing every day.
