This study analyzes the integration of product placement in ASMR content on YouTube, with the aim of understanding the strategies employed and the audience’s perception of these practices. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining content analysis of videos, semi-structured interviews with content creators, and a survey conducted among consumers of this type of content, while also considering the role of advertisers as part of the ASMR ecosystem. The findings allow for the identification of patterns in advertising integration, highlighting the relevance of narrative coherence, format adaptation, and creator credibility as factors that may influence audience acceptance of brands. Additionally, a distinction is observed between the positive affective evaluation of the content and a more moderate behavioral predisposition, suggesting that advertising effectiveness in ASMR may be more closely related to processes of symbolic meaning-making than to immediate consumption responses. From a theoretical perspective, the results engage with the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM) and the ABC model of attitudes, allowing advertising communication in this context to be interpreted as a process influenced by emotional, cognitive, and experiential dimensions. This study provides empirical evidence, contributing to the understanding of an emerging phenomenon within digital advertising and opening new avenues for future research on non-traditional forms of brand integration.
