The purpose of this study is to divide Uruguay in regions having homogeneous rainfall annual patterns. In order to achieve such partition, the annual cycle averaged over the period of study was considered for each station of the network. Principal Component Analysis and Cluster Analysis (PCA/CA) techniques were used. Based on previously published researches, Nucleated Agglomerative clustering (NA) algorithm was selected. Other clustering methods were used to test the consistency of the outcomes. The annual cycles of the resulting regions were compared. In particular, it is found that even though the double rainy season regime weakens from west. to east, it prevails throughout the country.
