La democratización de las relaciones sociales contribuye a mejorar la calidad material y espiritual de la vida colectiva. Para impulsar la democracia deben afrontarse problemas que cambian cuando se modifican los factores de poder social. En la actualidad, estamos comenzando a vivir en sociedades de base científica, porque a través de su unión con la tecnología, la ciencia se convierte en la principal fuerza de producción -y destrucción de nuestra época- y por ello en base de las relaciones de poder. Las relaciones de dominación tienen cada vez
más que ver con el acceso al conocimiento y al control sobre su generación y uso. Y la democratización de la ciencia, para que favorezca a los más, supone un compromiso ético que debe orientar tareas múltiples, por lo menos en las dimensiones filosófica, colectiva y relacional, republicana y comunitaria. En las sociedades de base científica, la lucha por defender y ampliar la democracia debe incorporar cuestiones clave, como la generalización del acceso a la enseñanza avanzada, y la democratización de las ciencias en un sentido amplio.
Social relations democratization contributes to improve material and spiritual quality of collective life. In order to promote democracy it is necessary to confront problems that change when social power factors are modified. At the present time, we are beginning to live in scientific-based societies, because through its union with technology, science becomes the main production force -and also destruction at the present time- and due to it science becomes as the power relationships basis. Domination relationships are more and more related to the knowledge access, and with the control over knowledge generation and usage. Science democratization, to be able to benefit the most people assumes an ethical commitment that must guide multiple tasks, at least in the philosophical, collective and relational, republican and communitarian dimensions. In scientific-based societies, the fight to defend and to extend the democracy, must comprehend key questions, such as access generalization to advanced education and sciences democratization in a wide sense.
