This monograph aims to comprehensively address the issue of sexual violence in adult women in heterosexual cohabiting couples, using the lens of social psychology and focusing on the repercussions on their mental health. The research delves into various aspects, critically analyzing the social elements that foster the normalization of sexual violence, evidenced in both discourses and practices. In addition, a bio-psycho-social approach is adopted, focusing specifically on women in love relationships. The analysis delves into the psychological factors derived from the experience of sexual violence, covering cognitive, emotional, sexual and reproductive dimensions. It highlights, in particular, the loss of autonomy experienced by women in the development of their lives as a consequence of this problem. The topic is not only presented as an opportunity for awareness but also for change through action, by identifying the elements involved that allow the empowerment of female sexuality, thus contributing to improve the health and strengthen the rights of women affected by this form of violence. In the same way, it is also presented as an opportunity to explore those psychological therapies that are effective in the approach and accompaniment of victims. Therefore, this rigorous and analytical approach characterizes the academic and scientific quality of this monograph as a final degree work.
