This work studies the history ofComunidad del Sur (Montevideo, Uruguay) between 1955 and 1975, from a sociocultural perspective on the political. It analyzes both the internal debates and actions as well as the interactions with other politicaland social actors, especially on the left. It also analyzes the conceptions and practices regarding family, sexuality and gender in this collective, based on the hypothesis that this was the mainarena of its revolutionary politics, which were centered on subjectivities, daily life and interpersonal relationships. This work seeks to explain the specificity of this anarchist-inspired agenda in the long sixties, and its relations with the context, the political and cultural networks and the readings developed by the group. The research was based on the content analysis of primary sources found in the archive ofComunidad del Sur, hemerographic material from the National Library, intelligence documentation, and interviews.
