The present work addresses the multimodal analysis of advertising spots from Fábricas Nacionales de Cerveza (FNC), focused on campaigns promoting responsible alcohol consumption between the years 2010 and 2019. The purpose of this research is to unravel how the message of responsible consumption is constructed through various communication modes. The visual, linguistic and sound elements are examined in detail, as well as the sociocultural context in which the advertisements are broadcast. Three representative spots were selected within the aforementioned period to perform a comparative analysis. The results demonstrate that FNC has used a variety of communication strategies to connect with its audience. These communication strategies include identification with characters and situations, the use of public figures, appeal to individual responsibility, and education about the consequences of alcohol consumption. An evolution is observed in the tone of the messages, from a humorous approach to a more educational one, hand in hand with legislative changes. This study contributes to the field of advertising communication by providing a framework for understanding how brands can influence social behavior through advertising and how messages adapt to constantly changing cultural and social contexts.
