Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, which has an estimated prevalence in adulthood of around 4.4%. ADHD in this population represents a growing area of clinical interest based on the negative psychological and social consequences it causes in people and their environment, as well as its high comorbidity with other conditions whose symptoms overlap and even mask the primary diagnosis. generating sub diagnosis. Among the most common comorbidities in adults diagnosed with ADHD are mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, eating disorders, insomnia, and personality disorders (BPD and APD). This essay addresses the problems generated by the symptoms of ADHD in adults, the importance of differential diagnosis and timely treatment, the most frequent comorbidities in this population and their relationship with ADHD, and the different therapies recommended in light of the evidence for a effective and comprehensive treatment that respects the uniqueness of each patient.
