(octocrileno y octinoxato) y tres fragancias sintéticas (musk cetona, musk xileno
pesquero, siendo ampliamente comercializada
Yellow clam (Amarilladesma mactroides) populations have suffered pressures of diverse kinds over the recent years. Which has led to trying to have a better understanding of their behaviour as a specie, to have a better management of the resource as a regulated fishery in the country. On the other hand, pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) come up as emerging contaminants, representing a potential risk to the aquatic environments and human health. The limited knowledge of its possible consequences on the marine environment led to the proposal of this work, which proposes the evaluation of two UV filters (octocryle and octinoxate) and three synthetic musk (musk ketone, musk xylene and galaxolide) in the yellow clam. The clams used were purchased on the market in the month of May, belonging to two different populations on the coasts of Barra del Chuy (Rocha), these beaches differ in the intensity of anthropogenic pressures and recreational activities conducted on them. These samples were separated into 4 sizes (<54 mm, 55-56 mm, 57- 58 mm y >59 mm) and a bulk per site (mix of individuals of all sizes); then, the modified citrate QuEChERs method was used for subsequent evaluation in GC MS. As a result, it was obtained that musk xylene requires a high concentration to be detected (LOD > 0.2 ug/g), which could indicate a difficulty for its detection in real samples. The evaluation indicated that no signal was detected for any of the contaminants from the individuals belonging to La Maciega beach, which presents a minimal anthropogenic impact. However, a signal for the UV filter octinoxate was detected in the size of 5,5-56 mm on Barra Puimayen beach. This signal was higher than the LOD, but lower than the LOQ (0.05 ug/g). The results obtained indicate the need for future evaluations that consider the summer months, where anthropogenic pressures intensify, and the yellow clam fishing is enabled as a fishing resource being widely commercialized
