Resumen:
Se estudian los sistemas integrados de gestión de bibliotecas, brindando criterios que ayuden a su selección. Se datallan requisitos generales y técnicos que se deben cumplir para satisfacer las necesidades actuales de una biblioteca y se presentan procedimientos y alternativas para su incorporación. Se muestran los intentos de integración que transitaron las bibliotecas de la Universidad de la República y el proceso de selección del software Aleph.
