This is a qualitative study strengthened by data presented by the official authorities that covers all national territory in the period between March 2020 and April 2022. In this way, two of the recommendations from our national government to face covid-19 were analyzed: «Stay at home» and «Responsible freedom», unraveling the concepts of violence, family, and State they contain. It is concluded that in our country, the pandemic had a predominantly health focus, omitting discussions and actions that consider alternative ways of managing this special situation, revealing gaps and pre-existing tensions in terms of the protection of boys and girls by the State.
